in argentina - while everyone else was taking shots of the glacier peeling off into the lake, i was turned the other way taking shots of this view! I used a digital compact for this shot, which just shows you dont need a DSLR (though there is admittedly alot of work back in the digital darkroom needed to get this look). For some shots of the glacier (and much more) please check my photostream - happy shooting!It was a lucky moment when I caught those sunbeams with my small friend (Canon IXUS 75), because during 2 weeks I spent in Basingstoke there was the only one sunny day.

This Pic was Taken in Gulmarg,Kashmir,India. It was during January so the mountains were lapped with snow. And we Know Snow and Sun are the deadly combination.
I am an amateur photographer living on the shore of Lake Superior who was lucky enough to meet up on Flickr with a wonderful group of local women photographers who share my passion for nature photography. The morning this photo was taken we were supposed to go on a snowshoe/photography trek, however, the weather forecast was predicting overcast skies so it was decided to postpone the hike and wait for nicer shooting conditions. I was all packed and ready to go so the next morning I headed out before sunrise to a location much closer to home (McKenzie Point Conservation Area) in the hopes of perhaps getting a glimpse of sunshine and was rewarded with some lovely cloud formations and a bit of colour in the sky. this photo was taken in our backyard during this winter. As the title "samba dancer" suggests it is what I see in this macro capture. the biggest flowerbud has some tiny parts of ice on it and so does the "dress" which is part of a plume of a "aster".

The two larger trees always seem to me to be sheltering the smaller one in the middle, even more so today after the heavy snowfall.
Snow silences everything, there was no sound at all; just a white landscape under a bluey-grey sky, and these three trees.
Taken today around noon by the Lodge cottage.
This picture was caused by a big dog that ran at these ducks. Knowing that they would have to fly any second I could prepare for this shot. It's one of my first handheld photo's with my heavy 120-400 lens.
