Still Water
The "Water of Leith" river is calm before it flows over the weir at Fords Road, Edinburgh. Early morning light and tree reflections add to the atmosphere.

The mountain rainbow
In my humble opinion, Photography is the art of putting our camera in the hands of an occasional viewer in such a way that he or she would know WHY we felt something when the picture was shot to that subject at that time.
If there is an answer to the question, than the photo is worth it

Moonlight Mitten
From the series "21 hours of light at Monument Valley".
Beginning at sunset on May 8, 2009 and shooting through the night and into late afternoon of the 9th at Arizona's Monument Valley. The only stopping was for a brief two hour nap at about 5:30 AM on Saturday morning. My goal was to catch the May 2009 full moon and it came off perfect.
This shot of the valley was taken at 12:19 AM when there seemed to be a rush hour of valley residents going home after socializing on a Friday night.

senetti
similar to daisies, but larger and more colourful.
My inquisitive mind has helped me invent and commercialise several hydraulic devices up to my retirement last year, since when I've been learning to use a new Olympus SP560UZ, my first digital camera.
I came across these flowers in a neighbour's courtyard and captured the brilliant primary colours with the help of a mirror to increase sunlight. I like the better control over flower shots with my simple camera; but will have to upgrade for landscapes which also fascinate me ...
I've been inspired by the astounding work shown on Flickr, and learn a great deal here!

MOA Globe
Mall of Asia, Philippines
If you're touring The Philippines, MOA is a "must" place to go so you can shop your hearts out.
I actually stole this shot, didn't have permit to shoot here. I was very lucky that when I got to this scene there were no guards for about 2 minutes.
Within that 2 minutes I was able to mount my tripod and set the proper exposure in my cam. Seeing one of the guards approaching, I quickly pressed the shutter continuously.
They told me to erase all my shots. Screw them! I told them I didn't got the time to shoot yet and I started asking questions about how to get a permit to lead the conversation away.
By the way there were 3 guards. 2 of them were riding motorcycles.
Who needs permit to shoot. This is a public place!
