The Pléiade books
On these shelves are but a few volumes from "Bibliothèque de la Pléiade" a prestigious editor of classical and modern masterpieces of the world literature.
I have several of these fine books, printed on very thin paper (in French, we say "Bible paper"...). They all have extensive notes, references and indexes. The analysis and comments come from the best specialists of the author or of the period. Their book list is mind boggling!
Some people buy them for their good looks and never read them... Aaaaaargh!!!!
Only problems:
1/ too heavy for a good reading in bed
2/ the font size is sometimes too small for my middle-aged man's eyes...
3/ they are bloody too expensive!
But they make wonderful presents!...

Luminiferous Celebration
Window Rock finally had her snow day the 2nd week of January. The beautiful 9 inches of snow still cover the hillsides and the children had two extra days off from school. This luminiferious celebration was captured when school resumed.
We love our Navajoland snow, as it will bring plenty of high desert plateau florals in the spring.
May your 2008 New Year continue in radiant Beauty!

This picture was taken in the summer of 2006 inside the Pena National Palace. It's located in Sintra, Portugal. The whole castle was covered in a cloud, what gived a really mysterious mood to it. It was cold and really hard to find a focus in the dense fog with my brdige camera.

This photo was taken in NW Wisconsin less than a mile from the St. Croix River. It is outside my livingroom window and is a row of trees
planted by the neighbor that I envision some day creating a grand
canopy down their drive. Taken with Nikon D200 and Nikor 80 to 200 lens.
