It was just one of those days where I could do no wrong. Very lucky indeed. These bees were everywhere, coming and going and posing in between. Shot with a Canon 40D and a Sigma 10-20mm. | AV mode | f/5.6 | 1/640 | ISO 100 | Boosted the vibrance in Lightroom to make the colors pop. Smart sharpen and levels to add more contrast in Photoshop.

True blue
Motu Nui, Motu Iti e Motu Kao Kao in Rapa Nui
I am a translator and photographer living between Italy and Argentina. I landed on Easter Island almost by chance and I've felt that peculiar uniqueness and magic that's all over the island. Definitely, one of the best trip I've ever made!

Dai miraggi ingannatori.
My Flickr user name is Baz Baziah
My real name is Jim McLeod, I'm from Liverpool England -the home of the Beatles (who I dislike !)
The photo was taken whilst I was out walking around Anaxos a small village on the Greek island of Lesvos (Lesbos). I was there with my Wife and Son on holiday.
The butterfly in question is a Painted Lady.
The title of the shot on Flickr "Dai miraggi ingannatori" comes from Act 2 of Puccini's opera "Madam Butterfly"
It was one of about 8 I took waiting for it to turn completely to show off both wings. It never did and flew off shortly after this shot was taken.
It is so sad to think that this wonderful creature lived no more than one or two days after I took this, why does nature make beautiful things last such a short time yet ugly things last so much longer?

Buttercups
It took me many exposures to achieve this image as I wanted the sun to be partially obscured by the flower giving the resulting effect and could not see through any viewfinder/display.
Obviously for this perspective I couldn't use my EOS 450D (unless I dug a small hole!) so took it with my Nokia N95.
