When one is outdoors, one finds images. When one is shooting still lifes indoors, one creates images.
I've been quite excited and intrigued by the technique of combining a "standard" photo image with a photo (or drawing) of a textured scene. It is new to me and I wished to try.
Of course there is a learning curve, what images are good for this; what textures work for me; how do I see images and scenes; the technical issues of photoshop?
This is attempt number three. The first, which I should put up, let's not be embarassed by our failures, or lesser successes, stymied me and I didn't try again for two to three weeks.
I've no idea what i'm doing, but I've bookmarked a number of you guys and gals that are doing it. I'me going to learn. Flickr is fantastic.
We found a very cool little perch overlooking the city of San Francisco and set up camp there for a while waiting for moments like this!
i wonder we're living in a world inside a crystal ball...
sepia trees at Iona Beach, Vancouver, British Columbia.

This was shot in Juoksengi, Sweden, where the Swedish/Finnish border and the Arctic Circle cross. There was a 20 minute break in the clouds, and I was lucky enough to notice and run outside. It was just after 7pm, but up here the sun set at 2pm so it was very dark.
I used a Nikon D40 on a tripod, set to Aperture Priority. It took about 14 shots about 30 minutes in a foot of snow to finally find a setting that worked! The shutter stayed open for about 30 seconds on all of these photos.

This shot was taken in Massaranduba -SC - Brazil and edited in photoshop.

in summer time it's difficult to reach this place - now the ice is thick enough to walk on it...

These trees seem to be made for a setting like this, with the Chiltern Hills in the background. Luckily we get plenty of morning fog.
It went on to be a lovely sunny day in this part of England.
