This photo was not taken on the Denali Highway. Contrary to some uninformed travelers' opinions, the Denali Highway does not go to Denali (Mt McKinley). It stretches between Cantwell on the Parks Highway and Paxson on the Richardson Highway. The views there are stunning as well, but this photo is a classic example of one of the passes on the Park Service Road (also known simply as the Park Road) into the depth of Denali National Park, which eventually terminates at Kantishna, a few miles past Wonder Lake. This same photo position can be seen on Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_McKinley. A similar photo, described as "Hiker on Stony Dome looks out over Thorofare Pass to Mt. McKinley, Denali National Park", can be seen at this link: http://www.wildnatureimages.com/DNP%20Stony%20Dome%201.htm.
